"Mirror, mirror..."

Films: Prince of Darkness (1987)

Alias: None

Type: Mystical

Location: Eldritch location/Haunted home

Height/Weight: Undefinable.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: You probably think that Satan was just a rebellious angel that got cast from Heaven. You'd be wrong. It's a bit more complex than that. Would you believe Satan's the product of cosmic horror?

History: From the realm of anti-matter comes the true father of Satan: the Anti-God. This being has been clamoring to enter our world and bring out the end times, but first it needs its offspring to summon it in the mortal ream. So Satan, having been accidentally released in a weird gooey form, possesses a woman to lead a horde of brainwashed hobos so that they can summon the Anti-God via a large mirror.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: The ritual to release the Anti-God is only completed midway before someone pushes Satan into the mirror-turned-portal. Then another shatters it, trapping the great evil within, presumably forever.

Powers/Abilities: Complete omnipotence, possession.

Weakness: Can be imprisoned.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-One of the most eldritch interpretations of Satanic evil, we're fortunate that this horror's influence was limited only to a small community (and Alice Cooper, of all actors). Its chosen form for Satan also deteriorates throughout, so good luck seeing that.

Trivia: -Aside from being in the film as one of the possessed, Alice Cooper was also asked to do a song for it, titled appropriately, "Prince of Darkness".

-Although director John Carpenter did the screenplay, he wrote it under the name, "Martin Quatermass". Anyone who's actually read all of this site will understand what he was going for.
